Charming 16th century coaching inn stands in the centre of Cerne Abbas which can be best described as one of the most beautiful villages in England and home of The Cerne Giant hillside chalk effigy. The building is steeped in history and much of the original features are still apparent. The property has been completely refurbished over the winter of 2011/12 and now offers 12 beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms contatining all the ammenities expected by todays discerning traveller. The bar, loos, courtyard and garden have also been sympathetically refurbished and The New Inn is poised to become a destination pub in the south west.
Jeremy and Vanessa Lee took over the property in June 2009 and have worked tirelessly to place it on the culinary map of Dorset. Jeremy’s CV includes time as an Inspector for the iconic Michelin Guide. Recognition in the major guide books has come and The Good Pub Guide awarded us not only with County Dining Pub of the year but also Landlord of the year for 2012.
