"Womdeeful location. Handy to get about to all the sites."
My wife being very disabled found it hard going with all the stairs. But that has not put us off with maybe a visit again next June and hopefully booking that suite facing the rear of the building.… Read more

Good food, location, history,
Dislikes:
The only downside was the noise early in the morning and we felt maybe blackout curtains seeing as the room faces east and it was light at 0430.

Stayed here before. Pub is In a great spot, beautiful views. Food is very good and the restaurant service is excellent and efficient.

The B and B side though is less good. Have to queue at busy bar to check in, we had no contact after to see if all was ok nor was it clear who we should talk to if not,
It was OK at best, There was a used damp towel left in bathroom; TV didn't work at all ( we didn't mind too much but it suggests no one really checked the room), coffee pot was temperamental... Read less

WELCOME TO THE SCOTT ARMS in Kingston, a pub with history, character, community and atmosphere.

A pub with arguably the best view over the majestic Purbeck countryside, taking in the stately Corfe Castle ruins and following the route of the steam railway right down to the Swanage beaches.

A pub that's as welcoming in the crazy, lazy, heat-hazy outdoors of Summer as it is in the fireplace-cosy, mulled warmth of Winter.

A pub that that serves tasty, wholesome, locally-sourced food throughout the year, either in the formal dining area, the two roomy bars or outside, where the Jerk Shak serves up fresh-cooked, barbecued Caribbean cuisine during the sunnier months.

A pub that remembers that it's a decent pint of real ale (locally-brewed or 'guest'), a well-kept (and well-respected) cider, a robust and eclectic wine selection and a well-stocked range of spirits that keeps its discerning customers happy.

A pub that has perhaps two of the most relaxing, comfortable and decidedly desirable B&B rooms in Purbeck, complete with a breakfast to get anyone out of bed.

A pub that, perhaps above all, manages to marry the traditional with the contemporary with reassuring ease.

Ian, Simon and Nicki took over the Scott Arms in the Spring of 2009, and since then the pub has quickly returned to its former glory, popular with locals, day-trippers and holiday-makers alike. Their youthful, professional approach, coupled with a knowing respect for the pub's history, has created a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable experience for young and old alike.

WE HAVE RECENTLY RENOVATED our B&B accommodation to a very high standard, and along with our delicious locally-sourced breakfasts and the to-die-for views over the Corfe Valley, we believe The Scott Arms is amongst the best places to spend a night (or two) in the area.
