Likes:
Lovely room with very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice clean bathroom. Good tea and coffee making facilities. Amazing breakfast with good choice. Great restaurant, good menu where we ate both nights.
Dislikes:
Parking was quite difficult as busy Easter weekend, but not really a problem. Also no instant coffee as my husband prefers this to cafetiere type provided (just his personal preference).

"What a view!"
Booked last minute not knowing the area at all but chose due to the price and location. Nice room, clean and well equipped. The view from the beer garden is absolutely stunning! I only wish I could be there on a warm summers evening to enjoy it to the full. Breakfast both days was freshly cooked with local produce by friendly staff. Didn't get the chance to sample another meal here but I have no doubt it would have been lovely after tasting breakfast. Read less

WELCOME TO THE SCOTT ARMS in Kingston, a pub with history, character, community and atmosphere.

A pub with arguably the best view over the majestic Purbeck countryside, taking in the stately Corfe Castle ruins and following the route of the steam railway right down to the Swanage beaches.

A pub that's as welcoming in the crazy, lazy, heat-hazy outdoors of Summer as it is in the fireplace-cosy, mulled warmth of Winter.

A pub that that serves tasty, wholesome, locally-sourced food throughout the year, either in the formal dining area, the two roomy bars or outside, where the Jerk Shak serves up fresh-cooked, barbecued Caribbean cuisine during the sunnier months.

A pub that remembers that it's a decent pint of real ale (locally-brewed or 'guest'), a well-kept (and well-respected) cider, a robust and eclectic wine selection and a well-stocked range of spirits that keeps its discerning customers happy.

A pub that has perhaps two of the most relaxing, comfortable and decidedly desirable B&B rooms in Purbeck, complete with a breakfast to get anyone out of bed.

A pub that, perhaps above all, manages to marry the traditional with the contemporary with reassuring ease.

Ian, Simon and Nicki took over the Scott Arms in the Spring of 2009, and since then the pub has quickly returned to its former glory, popular with locals, day-trippers and holiday-makers alike. Their youthful, professional approach, coupled with a knowing respect for the pub's history, has created a friendly, relaxed and enjoyable experience for young and old alike.

WE HAVE RECENTLY RENOVATED our B&B accommodation to a very high standard, and along with our delicious locally-sourced breakfasts and the to-die-for views over the Corfe Valley, we believe The Scott Arms is amongst the best places to spend a night (or two) in the area.
