Staff friendly. The locals were all very friendly also. The food in the evening was amazing, so good that we are going back in a couple of weeks just to have lunch there and enjoy a walk.
Dislikes:
Breakfast wasn't up to the same standard as dinner, but was still nice.
Not enough hot water to fill the bath. There was enough to enjoy it but would have been nicer a bit deeper.

Everything - it's brilliant. Great food, wine, accommodation and breakfast. We've been staying here for a number of years, both as a couple and now as parents to a toddler, and we all love coming here
Dislikes:

"Still wonderful after all these years!"
I last stayed at the Brace in the mid-70s and thought it was brilliant then. Having returned to give my wife a birthday treat I'm delighted to say that everything about our stay exceeded my memories! As an excuse to tuck ourselves away in Dorset for a couple of days it couldn't have been better. It can't be easy to make a living from a pub these days but the Brace of Pheasants has to be an object lesson in how to do it properly. The owners deserve to do well for a long time to come. It sounds trite - but everything! There is no weak point in the offering to guests. No facet of the service we received could be faulted: welcome, food, room, menu, price - all spot on.
Dislikes:
It was too brief!

Phil and Carol Bennett would like to welcome you to the heart of Plush and the beautiful surrounding countryside of this idyllic Dorset hamlet. Recently awarded Dorset Dining Pub of the Year 2011 by the Good Pub Guide.

Please feel free to join us any lunch time or evening to partake of some fine wines, beers and of course our renowned food. You are welcome to bring your family, friends, colleagues or just pop in on your own.

We have eight en-suite bedrooms, four in the old skittle alley and the remainder upstairs above the pub. All our rooms have been decorated by interior designer Chrissy Potter and we hope you like them as much as we do.

There is some beautiful countryside surrounding our pub with some super walks all around the valley.

As you would expect, situated in the heart of Dorset, we have fabulous produce virtually on our doorstep. Below is a list of our suppliers:

Meat:
George Tucker Butchers in Dorchester, who supplies us with beef from Middlemarsh and Higher Waterstone, lamb from Askerswell and rare breed pork from Godmanstone.
Rose Veal from Jurrasic Meat, Winfrith

Game:
Margret Ralph in Dorchester for all locally sourced venison, pigeon and rabbit
Local Shoots for partridge and pheasant in season

Fish:
Samways of Bridport for locally landed fish
West Country Catch of Dorchester for Weymouth and Brixham fish

Our menus change daily and always keep an eye out for our specials board.
