"Good stay at the Fox Inn"
We stayed for 2 nights with our dog and we were impressed with the value for money. The room was clean, comfortable and warm, breakfast was generous and nicely done. Also a good choice of evening meals if you're feeling too lazy to drive. The owners were very welcoming and the B&B really is dog friendly, so we were able to relax as the dog could come to the bar and restaurant with us. We'd happily stay again. Read less

"Comfortable stay in an ideal country pub"
Just what we wanted, a welcome for our dog with dog biscuits in the bar, a spacious clean room, a pint of ale before bedtime and a really good full English breakfast. Despite having problems with a fire that day and having no gas or hot water we still enjoyed our stay, the staff were sorry and advised us what had happened. Read less

Being very picky here I would ask that the air vent in the shower is hoovered to remove the build up of dust.

The Fox Inn was built over 250 years ago as the home of Charles Hall, then known as Broadclose. In the last 90 years the pub has become one of Dorset's most famous hostelries. Now under the control of Keith and Sharon, with Sharon's daughter Clare as manager, Clare's partner Darren as Head Chef and baby Emily 'helping', The Fox Inn is a true family enterprise.
Warm, welcoming and always a reflection of the rich, rural life found in the heart of Dorset, The Fox is popular with residents, visitors and locals alike.
The main restaruant provides a traditional and relaxing atmosphere in which to dine. Head Chef Darren and his team offer interesting and varied menus using the finest of fresh local produce. For a more informal experience try the light, airey garden restaurant ~ ideal for lunch. in the summer there is a large patio area which is a real sun trap.

There are 11 ensuite letting rooms, including 4 superior rooms designed to be both stylish and comfortable.
(Due to the fact the rooms are on upper floors with no lift, these rooms are not suitable for people with very limited mobility.)
In addition to the wealth of nearby attractions: Monkey World, Abbottsbury Swannery, Athelhampton Gardens, Sherbourne Castle, The Tutankhamun Exhibition to name but a few, we are ideally situated to take in some of the most breath taking walks. We recommend the spectacular views from the Wessex Ridgeway, returning through the famous Dorset Gap.
Day trips to Jersey and Guernsey are also available from nearby Weymouth.

**Please note - there is little or, for some, no mobile phone reception here at the Fox due to the rural location.
