The hotel, originally built in 1549, is situated in the heart of the Isle of Purberk, Dorset, and is ideally based for seeing the local sights and the surrounding towns of Swanage, Bournemouth and Poole. Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Kingston Lacy House, and the Jurassic Coast World Heriage Site are all on our doorstep. beaches are 4 miles or a short ride on Swanage Railway Steam Trains from the station at the bottom of our garden.

room rather small, rather out dated features and rather a lot of road noise (unable to close window as catch was stuck/broken)and very noisy water pipes so knew when others were using the bath/shower

We have a full A la Carte restaurant specialising in fresh fish, game and traditional English dishes. A full range of hot and cold bar snacks is also available. Whether you decide to explore the surrounding area or relax and enjoy the hospitality of our hotel, the bars are open all day for you to relax and enjoy our wide selection of English and Continental beers.
We are within 30 minutes of 5 champion golf courses - choose from Broadstone, Ferndown, Queens Park, Meyrick Park, or the Isle of Purbeck Golf course (only a 5-minute drive). The Swanage Steam Railway is only a 2 minute stroll from the hotel.
We are totally Green Aware and are currently waiting for an award to recognise this commitment. We have now attained the Jurassic Coast Quality Business Scheme Award.
