Lovely evenings with tasty meals and a glass of beer or wine in the pub. Pleasant talks - (or not if you don't like it).
Don't miss the living museum at Beamish - we needed two full days!

The room was clean and the beds comfortable and we had a quiet and restful night.

There was no dinner available (it being a Sunday night), but that gave us the opportunity to go to the excellent King's Head in Lanchester.

"Misleading reviews and advertising"
We booked an evening stay at the royal oak as we were attending a pool competition in sunderland the only reason we selected the royal oak was because it was advertised as having a pool table. There was no pool table the owner claimed it had been took down. We didnt even unpack our car we just handed the keys back and left. The owner said he would have the web site amended and we are entitled to a full refund as its false advertising. I am still awaiti g my refund. Verry dissatisfied indeed. Read less
