"Great value for money"
One night stay in order to visit elderly friend living in locality. B&B suited our needs perfectly and would have been a perfect stay had it not been for noisy guests waking us up in the middle of the night. Since this problem has already been noted by other reviewers, my suggestion would be for some "tips on being a considerate guest" given to all on check-in! And perhaps an extra charge for those who spoil the night for others through their inconsiderate behaviour!! Read less
Likes: Large, clean comfortable room.
Great value for money.
Easy access with public transport.
Good breakfast.
Dislikes: No hot water from taps. The only hot water available was from the shower.
Woken up in the middle of the night by inconsiderate, noisy guests returning to their rooms.
Response from The Bay Horse Inn: thank you for your review,

This truly wonderful public house offers a restaurant and accommodation. Being on the doorstep of Durham, it is an ideal location to enjoy the area's heritage. Brandon Village is only 3 miles from the centre of Durham City. The building itself is over 300 years old which still retains a lot of the charm of the old ages being an old Coaching Inn. It has been tastefully modernised, with the old stables and courtyard now providing excellent detached accommodation. There are ten ensuite bedrooms, four doubles, five twins and a family room which can sleep four people. WE are dog friendly but you must inform us before booking as not all rooms are allocated for animals. Continental breakfast is included. (tea, coffee, toast, cereal and fruit juices) Cooked breakfast is an additional £3.95 per person We are located 3 miles west from Durham where you can visit the wonderful Cathedral, Castle or stroll along the banks of the River Wear. A great day out can be had at Beamish which is only 8 miles away. The two major cities of the North East, Newcastle & Sunderland, are within 20 miles. For a more relaxing day out, the unspoilt countryside of the Durham Dales are only 10 miles away. The fantastic site of High Force is easily accessible too.
