"Good stay again at the dun cow"
We stopped overnight whilst visiting attractions in the area and met up with local friends for a meal in the restaurant that night. We additionally had our daughter, her partner and our 3yr old grandson join us.

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the last 20 years and always found it clean, welcoming and comfortable with good food and service...

This has been for business and leisure stays over the years.
The owner/manager (Geoff Rayner) is often on hand to ask if everything is OK Read less
Likes:
Welcome, and atmosphere in both bar and restaurant.
Much more homely than a box room hotel chain.

It might not suit everyone who expects modernity, remember this is and old inn with rooms.
Dislikes:
Nothing that comes to mind..

"Was what we needed for the purpose of our stay, just a bit noisy from bar and street noise."
We needed a 1 night stop-over for a wedding we attended at the Manor House. Was reasonably priced and was adequate for our needs. Just a bit noisy from the bar music downstairs, but bar closed fairly early I think. Outside street noise also a bit of loud, but not much you can do about traffic! Better window insulation maybe? Overall a pleasant stay - nice bar area, great breakfast! Would stay again when up visiting from Manchester! Read less

The Dun Cow Inn was transformed from the original pub and adjacent Grocery store in 1975. When transformed the original grocery store frontage was altered to complement the existing frontage of the original pub. Our country inn situated in the heart of Sedgefield boasts a fantastic range of guest beers as well as a selection of wines available by the glass. Our bar offers a warm and relaxed feel so you can enjoy socialising with friends and family.

In addition to our bar we have a fantastic restaurant which has a seasonal menu with the emphasis being on local fish and meat whilst we have a wide range of specials shown on the blackboards which change daily.

With a wonderful menu of locally sourced ingredients cooked to order by our amazing chefs you will find our restaurant the ideal place to relax and unwind.

We have six guest bedrooms which are tastefully and traditionally decorated to reflect the style and country charm of the establishment. The rooms are available for short stays or longer breaks and are equally attractive to the business client or those looking to get away for a relaxing break.

Clients regularly stay with us if they are attending family events in the local area as we are centrally located within the village of Sedgefield. What ever the reason for choosing to stay with us you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome not only from us but also from Sedgefield.

Breakfast is included in all our room rates; you can enjoy a lovingly prepared full English or if you prefer something more continental you can choose from a range of cereals, a selection of fruit, yoghurts, toast and croissants with your tea, coffee and orange juice.
