We found a staff who welcomed us, although we arrived early on Saturday. We could leave our luggages and start enjoying our holiday.
This hotel/pub is close the main way along the beach but in same time in a quiet location. A nice and clean room just what we needed. It was perfect for relaxing and getting rest. Read less

"Historic pub at budget a price"
I booked this 'blind' on the internet when looking for somewhere to stay before flying out from Gatwick. My largest worry about staying in a pub was that it would be noisy, but I needn't have worried: the room was very quiet. The situation, just off the seafront and close to the centre of Hove, is superb. For any one looking for 'cheap and cheerful' accomodation with a superb location, The Iron Duke has a lot to recommend it. I would certainly return. Read less
Likes:
I really enjoyed the pub atmosphere, the room was clean and quiet, and the location is wonderful - all for a budget price. All in all, this was great value for money.
Dislikes:
If I'd come at the weekend I would have had a cooked breakfast! The continental breakfast served on weekdays was adequate, however.

Likes:
The Iron Duke is in an excellent location (pleasant street, very near the front between Brighton and Hove). Delightful room with a sea view, comfortable bed and modern bathroom.
Dislikes:
The pub was generally shabby and smelt musty.

Built in 1828, the Iron Duke is proud to be the oldest running hotel in the Brunswick Area. Brunswick Town (as this neighbourhood is called) is one of the most historically preserved Georgian planned communities in the South of England, and arguably the nicest neighbourhood in the Brighton/Hove area.

The Iron Duke is a clean, bright Hotel and Pub that is constantly being freshened and updated for our customers comfort and enjoyment. Non-smoking rooms are available, and the pub itself has a 42" plasma television for true-quality game enjoyment!

The best part of the Iron Duke is however, its location. Just moments from the beach, the blue skies and sea air offer a gentle breeze from the moment you step outside. If you are looking for a great, comfortable guest house with clean rooms, friendly staff, a little bit of history and walking distance to the beach we are the hotel for you!
