"One night stay was not enough!"
The welcome was warm, the staff and service were first class. An ideal location (just 5 mins away ) for the playhouse, bars and restaurants but not at all noisy at night. Beautiful georgian house, spotlessly clean, good shower and excellent breakfast. The rooms may be a little dated but it was cosy and the mattress was really comfy, slept like a log. No TV in room (which we knew) but the free wi-fi was handy to have. Will definitely stay again and stay longer next time Read less

Dislikes:
No negatives for us but some people might not like the fact that there is no TV in the room

"Great to stay in the heart of Edinburgh and be near to everything without all the noise!"
We stayed for two nights as we were seeing a show at the Playhouse and wanted to explore Edinburgh. The Halcyon was a great base for this as its in the city centre, less than ten minutes from the playhouse and Waverly train station. We only got breakfast on the second morning of our stay as we had a late night on our first night and slept through breakfast! Our fault! We also enjoyed a large room, I presume a family room, as it had one double and two single beds in it and it didn't feel cramped. Read less

The staff we met were friendly, the room we were in (number 15 on the third floor) was very large, bright and airy. The bed was comfortable and the view from the window across the gardens was nice.

Many thanks for your kind review. We are delighted you enjoyed our hotel and the unique city of Edinburgh.
Being a short walk from the city centre, yet in a quiet terrace often surprises our guests! I will pass on your lovely comments to the team.
Hope to see you again soon.
with kind regards
