Lack of staff. No staff at night when other rooms V loud. Woke me up at 23.30 on Thurs. No one to quiet them! Phone diverted to mobile. No apology. 45 mins for full breakfast. 1 morning with mushrooms / haggis, other morning none. No one in reception, ever.
Owner promised to have chocolate croissant or doughnut for my friend's birthday breakfast. Did not happen. No apology. One man served bar/ restaurant/reception and prepared food after 20.00 Thursday evening! No wifi code! No hair dryer. Read less

The Strathearn Hotel in Kirkcaldy is a beautiful Victorian building, located in a suburban setting with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Standing within its own landscaped gardens on the picturesque East coast of Fife, it maintains its original character with beautifully appointed public rooms and impressive views over the Firth of Forth.

Built in the late Victorian period (1896) as a family home of the Wishart family, the building has been extended to include extra bedrooms and function suites. We have 18 well-appointed en suite bedrooms all with Televisions, tea and coffee making facilities.

Kirkcaldy itself is the main shopping centre of the area, and is popular for its arts and entertainment at the Adam Smith Theatre and the Art Gallery and Museum. Glenrothes is a new town which offers much for the visitor, with some of the the finest leisure facilities available. The popular holiday town of Leven boasts an impressive swimming pool and leisure complex to complement its traditional sandy beach.

Families will find no shortage of things to do along the busy promenade or in the quieter surroundings of Letham Glen and Silverburn Park with their nature trails. The coastline is scattered with picturesque sea towns and villages, each with its own history based around the harbours still bustling with fishing boats.
