Views from the front great. Location excellent. Staff friendly.
Dislikes:
View from the rear (bedroom) overlooked large flat roof of hotel. Also, no hot water and no shower for the room we occupied. I would recommend the Royal Oak with reservations.

"A Little Disappointing"
We booked this location because it said it was only 7 miles from Slimbridge Wetland Trust which was the purpose of our visit. In faci it was nearer 30 miles as we had to drive to Chepstow and then double back up to Slimbridge. This not only added to the cost of the trip fuel wise but also time. Read less
Likes:
The breakfasts were very good and certainly more than enough and although the evening meals were also very generous they were a bit repetitive especially if you were staying there for any length of tm
Dislikes:
The rooms were cold as there was no heating on. Also there was no hot water in the evenings to have a bath. Came back from our day out to find the room had not been cleaned and the bed not made up.
