"Beautiful location, peaceful stay, welcoming staff"
We stayed for one night while attending a friends wedding a few miles away. On arrival the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, cosy and furnished with a wonderfully quirky mix of antique furniture.
The setting of the hotel is amazing with stunning views over the area, and the breakfast we had was absolutely delicious. In the end we were sad we only had one night there and didn't get to enjoy it more. Read less

The floor isn't flat and washroom size is really small, although that wasn't problematic to me.

Didn't like the single-wide road going in&out the lodge. Was difficult to see at night, in fog. Especially with oncoming traffic. Read less

Staffs were very friendly. Comfortable and warm room. Nice breakfast.
Dislikes:
WiFi was really inconsistent inside my room.
Was driving up the ladder at night in dense fog. Without any lights on the sign, it was really difficult to see the "Old Lodge" junction.

In 1213, after the Norman Conquest, the wooded land we now know as Minchinhampton Common was confiscated and given to l`Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. Some 800 years later Christophe and his business partner Nick continue to add to this fascinating Anglo/French story.

The Old Lodge itself dates back some 400 years and is reportedly a former hunting lodge to Henry VIII. The most recent project and the boys only hotel to date.

The Lodge has magnificent views and an envied position at the centre not only of the common with its free ranging cattle but of Minchinhampton Golf Course.

The stunning restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto the common and the professional yet relaxed service is delivered by Daniel Wood and his team.

Recently refurbished, all rooms have contemporary decoration with stylish furnishings and luxury linen and bedding. Each room comes equipped with wireless broadband, DVD, and digital LCD TV as standard. All bathrooms feature either bath and/or power shower.

The Old Lodge makes an instant impression. Individually designed rooms, large restaurant, local ales, and roaring log fires in winter guarantee to make your stay a memorable one.
