Likes:
Location, service and cleanliness could not fault. Breakfast was great. Plenty of it and quite varied but also usual stuff.
Dislikes:
Evening meal was below average, not very good value for money. Roast overdone dry meats and burnt veg

I feel mean even saying it because there's not much you can do about it: for my 84 year old husband, the staircase is a bit alarming.

"Check if they have an event"
Stay very pleasant but we stayed here the night before a 50miles charity bike ride. There was a rugby club event on and we had to speak to duty manager at 1:30am as the noise level very high. They should have something on website when booking if there is going to be such an event. The manager promised a 50% refund but this never came to fruition and no manager around in the morning when I left for the bike ride. Read less

Location is amazing
Dislikes:
The fact we were not warned about an event and then were being kept awake.

In 1213, after the Norman Conquest, the wooded land we now know as Minchinhampton Common was confiscated and given to l`Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. Some 800 years later Christophe and his business partner Nick continue to add to this fascinating Anglo/French story.

The Old Lodge itself dates back some 400 years and is reportedly a former hunting lodge to Henry VIII. The most recent project and the boys only hotel to date.

The Lodge has magnificent views and an envied position at the centre not only of the common with its free ranging cattle but of Minchinhampton Golf Course.

The stunning restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto the common and the professional yet relaxed service is delivered by Daniel Wood and his team.

Recently refurbished, all rooms have contemporary decoration with stylish furnishings and luxury linen and bedding. Each room comes equipped with wireless broadband and digital LCD TV as standard. All bathrooms feature either bath and/or power shower.

The Old Lodge makes an instant impression. Individually designed rooms, large restaurant, local ales, and roaring log fires in winter guarantee to make your stay a memorable one.
