Location is amazing and the rooms are very nice for the money. The pub is brilliant too.
Dislikes:
Nothing that could be avoided. The fire alarm went off as mentioned but that was no one's fault.

Lovely room and very comfortable bed and bedding.Particularly liked having a coffee machine as well as kettle.Lovely hot water for the shower.
Dislikes:
Would have liked the option of breakfast or if that not possible then a fridge in the room to store milk and cereal.Managed to find breakfast in Uppermill but would have preferred to eat in

"Lovely room albeit overpriced"
Had a lovely stay at the Waggon Inn. The room was a good size and clean. In general the room was lovely, but there were a few bug bears. The curtains for the windows were quite sticky and the floors could have used a cleaning. As it was above the pub, it was still somewhat loud until things closed down around midnight. And despite its great location in the centre of town, the per night price tag was a bit excessive for the room. It was nice, but not that nice. Read less
Likes:
Comfortable bed and great location to the town and area for our event. Friendly staff.
Dislikes:
There wasn't much thought to some little basics (i.e. instructions for using equipment in the room - coffee machine, safe, etc.). And in general the price was high for what you get.

A delightful 19th Century coaching inn with a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area. The inn has recently undergone a huge refurbishment to bring the building back to life. Local produce and a lovely setting are the hallmarks of The Waggon Inn; with all our food sourced locally.

The Waggon Inn was established in 1882 by Joseph Bradbury and has a long tradition of providing hospitality and accommodation to local residents and visitors to Uppermill. In “Saddleworth Pubs and their licencees 1674-1998”, Rob Magee notes that about 1882 Joseph Bradbury a Stone Merchant became beer retailer at the Waggon Inn, High Street, Uppermill. By 1887 Joseph’s widow Mary was licensee and owner. When Mary died in 1900 her son Frank took over as licensee and stayed on until 1925, when the family sold the Waggon to Robinson’s Brewery, Stockport.

There are four rooms available. All bedrooms are newly renovated to a very high standard. Our twin room has a walk in wet room and our doubles a power shower and bath All.bedrooms are equipped with large flat screen TV's, hair dryer, Dolce Gusto coffee machine with tea and coffee making facilities.

TO NOTE
Should you wish to dine in our restaurant please make separate arrangements by contacting us directly as our restaurant is often fully booked and therefore cannot guarantee residents a table
We are a very busy and lively pub and restaurant and therefore not ideally suited for children
Due to the nature of our business and our location on the High Street in a bustling village noise may travel into our rooms which are situated above our bar and restaurant
