The food is fantastic. My evening meal was delicious and the full English breakfast was to die for. The room had everything that I needed, the bed was super comfortable and great location.
Dislikes:
The shower control was broken but I forgot to mention it to the staff. The complementary shower gel was empty and hadn't been replaced. No big deal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room had everything I needed and the bathroom was really nice!
Dislikes:
The room was very warm, a desk fan would have been nice, but I'm a fussy sleeper and I like it cold so I'm probably being overly critical.

The room was nice and the breakfast was very good although expensive.
Dislikes:
Despit being asked about our plans and an arrangement to service our room at about 4:00 on the second day we were disappointed to find on our return at 8:30 that the room had not been serviced.

A delightful 19th Century coaching inn with a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area. The inn has recently undergone a huge refurbishment to bring the building back to life. Local produce and a lovely setting are the hallmarks of The Waggon Inn; with all our food sourced locally.

The Waggon Inn was established in 1882 by Joseph Bradbury and has a long tradition of providing hospitality and accommodation to local residents and visitors to Uppermill. In “Saddleworth Pubs and their licencees 1674-1998”, Rob Magee notes that about 1882 Joseph Bradbury a Stone Merchant became beer retailer at the Waggon Inn, High Street, Uppermill. By 1887 Joseph’s widow Mary was licensee and owner. When Mary died in 1900 her son Frank took over as licensee and stayed on until 1925, when the family sold the Waggon to Robinson’s Brewery, Stockport.

There are four rooms available. All bedrooms are newly renovated to a very high standard. Our twin room has a walk in wet room and our doubles a power shower and bath All.bedrooms are equipped with large flat screen TV's, hair dryer, Dolce Gusto coffee machine with tea and coffee making facilities.
