"Warm welcome at the Woolpack"
Stayed here with a chum for the first time in a few years, and found a thoroughly engaging welcome from the jolly community of young staff running a good ship. A memorable stay and one I'd happily repeat soon. Breakfast a particular highlight for us, though maybe not those having to be up early to serve it...! Read less
Likes:
Staff welcome; room layout; rural location; food.
Dislikes:
Cask beer range okay but room for improvement, notwithstanding this being a Heineken-owned establishment. More local ales please!

Service at breakfast was excellent as was the food.
Dislikes:
The room was noisy as the sound travels easily through the walls but i guess this is unavoidable for an old building. The bathroom could have been cleaner and some of the cushions were a bit mucky.

The Woolpack Inn has seven recently refurbished and beautifully appointed double en-suite bedrooms named aptly after game birds. With a heavy emphasis on home comfort each of our rooms is stylishly decorated and comes complete with:

• King size or twin beds;
• Quality bedding and fluffy towels;
• Luxurious Bramley toiletries;
• Tea & coffee making facilities;
• Fridge with fresh milk;
• Hair dryer;
• Flat screen television;
• WiFi internet access;
• Gun cabinet;
• Safe available on request;
• A hearty full English breakfast (included in the room rate).

Our kitchen team works hard to prepare a fresh, exciting and seasonal menu. The menu regularly changes, keeping the core classics and we offer a range of seasonal specials. The chefs make the most of our surroundings and our menu boasts a vast range of local produce, from local game, to trout caught in pristine chalk streams to watercress from nearby beds. In addition to our seasonal menus, we also offer a range of traditional Sunday roasts with all the trimmings.

We offer lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as a range of freshly prepared bar snacks. You can choose to dine in our bar area, 50-cover restaurant or heated outside patio. We also have a private dining room which seats up to 14 and has its own garden. It is available for all styles of party.

Our bar is the perfect place to relax and sample some of the great drinks we proudly serve. We are big believers in top quality real ales and offer our very own Ramshead brewed by the Marston’s brewery as well as Palmer’s Copper Ale brewed in Dorset. Our third pump is reserved for local guest ales. Our wine list has a broader geographic reach, and with the assistance of a range of suppliers, we have an excellent global list complemented by our ‘Fine Wine’ selection for those looking for something a little extra special.

Shooting parties, dogs, families, walkers and cyclists will all find a warm and friendly welcome.
