Likes:
Surroundings and staff very good.
Dislikes:
Our room had no windows from which to look out - somewhat claustrophobic. Although the room is adequate, there is not much room to move around. So it's OK for an overnight stay

Lovely establishment. Well laid out and very quaint. Bedroom was lovely, comfy bed, nice toiletries but our room was never made up which was surprising. The restaurant is delightful but the service was variable and the lack of options particularly at breakfast was disappointing. Read less

Very well designed overall. The aubergine gnocchi is yum. Relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly. One member of staff was excellent, very pleasant and seemed to care about providing a good experience.
Dislikes:
No tidy up of our room during the day. Poor service at breakfast on one day and very little option for non conventional diets.

Not really a professional welcome
The menu was the main reason for choosing this venue only to be told the chef was ill and only a BBQ was available which was very, very poor
Our room was ok, not particularity clean, one pillow was absolutely disgusting, soiled and flat.
No local details, no fire exit details or instructions for breakfast, only one bedside table and limited toilettries.
Breakfast was the redeeming aspect, such a shame as the place could be excellent Read less

• King size or twin beds;
• Quality bedding and fluffy towels;
• Luxurious Bramley toiletries;
• Tea & coffee making facilities;
• Fridge with fresh milk;
• Hair dryer;
• Flat screen television;
• WiFi internet access;
• Gun cabinet;
• Safe available on request;
• A hearty full English breakfast (included in the room rate).

Our kitchen team works hard to prepare a fresh, exciting and seasonal menu. The menu regularly changes, keeping the core classics and we offer a range of seasonal specials. The chefs make the most of our surroundings and our menu boasts a vast range of local produce, from local game, to trout caught in pristine chalk streams to watercress from nearby beds. In addition to our seasonal menus, we also offer a range of traditional Sunday roasts with all the trimmings.

We offer lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as a range of freshly prepared bar snacks. You can choose to dine in our bar area, 50-cover restaurant or heated outside patio. We also have a private dining room which seats up to 14 and has its own garden. It is available for all styles of party.

Our bar is the perfect place to relax and sample some of the great drinks we proudly serve. We are big believers in top quality real ales and offer our very own Ramshead brewed by the Marston’s brewery as well as Palmer’s Copper Ale brewed in Dorset. Our third pump is reserved for local guest ales. Our wine list has a broader geographic reach, and with the assistance of a range of suppliers, we have an excellent global list complemented by our ‘Fine Wine’ selection for those looking for something a little extra special.

Shooting parties, dogs, families, walkers and cyclists will all find a warm and friendly welcome.
