Likes:
The ambience of the hotel including the latin quotes in the breakfast room. The friendly, helpful staff, and the comfort of the bed.
Dislikes:
Shower a little awkwardly planned for an older couple. Trying to negotiate a fixed glass panel was disconcerting. Support rails could help. Stained carpets also a bit of a put off.

Situated on the Duke of Wellington's estate, the Wellington Arms Hotel is at the heart of some of Hampshire and Berkshire's most beautiful countryside. The hotel is located on the A33. Reading and the M4 motorway are less than 10 miles (16 km) to the north and Basingstoke and the M3 motorway are similar distance to the south.
The hotel's convenient location means that central London is within easy reach, as is the South Coast. Grade II listed, the building is rich in historic character and original charm, while all of the rooms boast modern comforts and facilities. The restaurant offers superb, classic British and Mediterranean cooking. The lounge bar serves an excellent range of home-cooked bar meals and well-kept cask-conditioned ales.
Hampshire offers a wealth of treasures, from rolling countryside, unspoilt beaches, glorious gardens and pretty villages to ancient forests, bustling market towns, historic ships and imposing castles. If you like walking, cycling, horse riding or water sports there's plenty to keep you amused, while for shopping, food and drink, military heritage and award-winning attractions, Hampshire tops the lot.
