Likes:
Beautiful location and views from a comfortable room with large, comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water from a very good shower.
Dislikes:
A sense of 'meanness' in presentation of breakfast cereals/fruit bar: we've had much better at 'bog standard' chain hotels (& only 1 bottle of water in room). Staff seemed to lack training/direction.
Response from Langrish House:
Thank you for your review. We are delighted you liked the house and fabulous location and that the room was comfortable also with plenty of hot water with a good shower. The breakfast menu is extensive including full English breakfast, haddock with poached eggs, scrambled egg with smoked salmon or continental with ham and cheese. Fresh fruit, chilled juices and a selection cereals is offered. No skimping occurs Finally the family has been here for nearly 200 years! They have no plans to depart!!

"Relaxing break in a peaceful rural location though mornings were disturbed"
We enjoyed exploring the grounds and the lovely views from the large windows. Decor in our room was good. Staff were helpful if a little elusive at times. We tried to avoid the Vault as we felt it a little gloomy and unwelcoming. Avoided the restaurant as the choices seemed heavy and pricey, but a large breakfast and afternoon tea took us through a whole day! Read less
Likes:
A lovely old house in splendid grounds and our large room meant we could enjoy time in it reading and talking avoiding the inclement weather. A great place to walk from.
Dislikes:
The way the rooms are planned meant that the powerful noisy showers in the two bathrooms adjacent to our room woke us each morning. Breakfast was a scramble as everyone wanted to eat upstairs.

Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Langrish House is family owned and operated and has 13 bedrooms, an exciting 2 AA Rosette Restaurant and excellent facilities for a relaxing break.
The gardens are beautiful with rolling lawns and the bedrooms well appointed with direct dial telephone, television, tea/coffee making facilities, ensuite bathrooms, heating and Wi-Fi (an extra charge). All rooms have beautiful views over the grounds. We are proud to boast that we were 'Hotel of the Year 2005' with Les Routiers, and have just been awarded a gold award for Green Tourism.
We offer a later check out time of 12.00 noon on a Sunday morning subject to availability.
A special feature are the cellars which were dug by Royalist Prisoners captured during the Battle of Cheriton in 1644, who were then imprisoned there. The award winning restaurant specialises in fine dining and the menu is innovative and excellent.
Langrish House is situated 3 miles outside of Petersfield and within easy reach of Portsmouth, Alton, Winchester, Guildford and one hours train ride to London Waterloo.
