Great setting and lovely calm atmosphere
Dislikes:
Only that room was hot, so had window open and kept awake by air conditioning unit under window going off at intervals during night.

"Disapointing"
Stayed at Kings Head on a Saturday night after visiting the Christmas market in Winchester as part of 40th birthday celebration for my wife. Arrived at about 4pm and already the dining area seemed quite busy and noisy. The barmaid seemed surprised when we asked for room key. We had booked the Spitfire suite which had its own entrance directly off the car park which was handy given the rain. Our bedroom and small lounge were in the roof space and the bathroom downstairs. Likes:
It's an attractive Inn set in a pretty village within easy striking distance of Winchester. The Spitfire suite is fairly quirky and having it's own entrance was convenient.
Dislikes:
Strong smell of gloss paint in room. No mirror in bathroom. No shower and bath plug didn't work. Staff seemed a little clueless. Only BBC channels on TV. Noisy kitchen under room.

This 4-star Georgian coaching inn offers a traditional pub and restaurant serving fresh local produce. Surrounded by Hampshire countryside, it features individually styled rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Dating back to 1810, The Kings Head is fitted with antique furnishings and fireplaces. It is supposed that the inn was given its present name for its close connection with the family of Oliver Cromwell.

All rooms at The Kings Head come with cable TV and a work desk. Each has a private bathroom with a bath or shower. Free toiletries and high quality towels are also provided. Dogs are welcome in the Spitfire suite.

Only 10 minutes’ drive from Winchester centre, the inn offers free private parking on site. Southampton and the ferries to the Isle of Wight are 25 minutes drive away. South Winchester Golf Club is 1.9 miles from the hotel.

The Kings Head has its own skittles alley, which is available for hire.
