"Great location, good value for money and friendly and welcoming staff."
Stayed for four nights in the Kingsland room, which was comfortable and clean and offered a separate single bedroom leading off from the double, which suited us perfectly. A very welcoming bar, prices about what you'd expect, with a good range of draught beers and lagers. Ate dinner there on two of our evenings, both times in the bar. On both occasions the food was excellent, well cooked, well presented and not over-priced. All in all, a first class stay. No hesitation in recommending to others. Read less
Likes:
Double bedroom with a single bedroom leading off. Great staff, very welcoming and friendly, especially Ben. Room very clean and well-serviced. Excellent 'full English' breakfast included.
Dislikes:
Staircase leading to the rooms is a little challenging.

Owned by experienced operator Tim Lightfoot, The Three Tuns is the corner-stone pub of the historic village of Ashwell, and the perfect venue for those, both local and from afar, to unwind, relax and socialise. Ashwell is a picturesque village in North Hertfordshire. The Ashwell Springs which rise next to The Three Tuns are the source of the River Cam and are a beautiful area for paddling and picnicking. The village is a bustling place with a thriving community and several excellent local businesses including Crump's Butchers, Days’ Bakery and Rhubarb & Mustard Deli & Coffee Shop.

The kitchen team, work hard to provide a unique mix of traditional pub favourites and modern British cuisine. Produce is locally sourced where possible; with Ashwell’s Crump’s and Day’s both providing key ingredients for our menu. Our specials board is up-dated daily ensuring that there will always be something new for the repeat customer.

We offer a range of dining styles from formal dining in our dining room, to al fresco dining on one of our two patios, or our extensive garden. Lunch & dinner are available every day, with the exception of Sunday evening.

The extensive wine list is handpicked from a variety of suppliers, with ever-changing wine specials available on request. Our real ales are carefully maintained with Greene King IPA as our resident ale, and two guest ales that change fortnightly.

The jewel in our crown are our three newly refurbished guest rooms, which provide the comfort and homeliness needed to relax on a weekend-break or a short overnight stay.

Dogs are welcome in certain rooms; please inquire for further details
