"Good hotel but very noisy guests"
This was a 1-night stay travelling through east Scotland. Staff were very friendly and helpful, however neighbouring (staff? guest?) rooms were causing a lot of noise - including additional (non-staying?) people being very noisy up and down stairs, banging on doors, and the room above ours obviously had a large number of people in it/loud music until 2330hours+. The barman was very helpful when I gave up trying to sleep and went downstairs to see if anything could be done, and rooms were clean Read less
Likes:
The staff were friendly
Dislikes:
Un-managed behaviour which must have been apparent to staff, who chose to ignore it until I asked them to get it in order. Hopefully this was just due to the individuals? No parking.

Likes:
On site restaurant, as limited eating places without driving.
Short walk to beach.
Dislikes:
It is an old building with unusual plumbing so noisy but bed was comfortable and once everyone settled down it was ok.

The river Brora is renowned as one of the best salmon rivers in Scotland. The Sutherland inn is the idea base for fishing many of Scotland’s finest rivers including the river Helmsdale and River Thurso.

If you are planning a more active break like cycling from Lands End to John O Groats then the Sutherland inn make the perfect stop over. The Sutherland inn is only 70-miles away from John O Groats and makes the idea stop off at the start or the end of your cycling challenge. Your cycles can be stored safely while you rest your tired bodies and enjoy what the Sutherland inn has to offer. For those who like the extreme then there is the Highland Wild Cat trails. These trails will test your mountain biking abilities to the limit and are only 5 miles from the Sutherland Inn.

After a long day walking on the hills, there can be nothing better than relaxing by our real fire enjoying a large dram. For the less energetic of you then the Sutherland inn has just as much to offer. Dunrobin castle is just a 5-mile drive with castle & gardens tours as well as a must see falconry centre.
