We stayed here for a week while we visited family. For us the location was perfect. The room and lounge areas were well presented and clean. We did not use the dining room so cannot comment on that. When we saw staff they were all very pleasant and friendly. This is a hotel that we would revisit and would recommend to our friends and family. Read less

Location and a very comfortable bed!
Dislikes:
The only downside was that when the restaurant was busy at the weekend parking was not so easy and there was a lot of noise from the restaurant rising to our bedroom.

"A wee gem"
There are no frills to the reception really, just a friendly welcome and you're left to settle in. Our room was well equipped and had a generous hospitality tray with extras available along the corridor. The toiletries are lovely! Dinner was excellent with great, friendly service. Good advice on wines to accompany the food. Breakfast was wonderful with a good choice. The Frozen berry yoghurt is to die for! Read less

The toiletries, the great hospitality tray, ability to get all TV channels! Good internet access. The amazing menu and food in the Chanterelle restaurant. The lovely staff.
Dislikes:
The old part of the house could do with a bit of TLC. The towels could maybe be replaced by new ones?

Kinkell House Hotel is a small Country House peacefully situated in its own grounds surrounded by trees and pasture land. The charming 150 year old converted farm house is located on the Black Isle in Ross-shire sitting above the Cromarty Firth, with spectacular views across the firth to Ben Wyvis and the mountains to the west Coast of Scotland.

Kinkell House Hotel is ideally situated two and a half hours from John O'Groats, one hour from Ullapool and the Western Isles, two and a half hours from Portree on the Isle of Skye and half an hour from the infamous Loch Ness.

The general area is steeped in history, including Culloden Moor in Inverness, the Standing Stones on Lewis and the magnificent Dunrobin Castle near Golspie, to name but a few.
