We visited for 3 nights as a central location for exploring the Black Isle and the Moray Coast. We found plenty of lovely places to walk, great galleries & cafes to visit. We live on Skye and love to visit the Eden Court Arts Centre in Inverness which has a great programme of events. The hotel is about 15-20 mins from Inverness so we enjoyed a great film at Eden Court one evening during this trip. Read less

It was great value for money for the time of year. The hotel is in a beautifully quiet location and our room was a comfortable size. We loved the restaurant; can't wait to eat there, again.
Dislikes:
We knew from reading reviews that the hotel would be a bit 'tired' but this was reflected in the price, so it didn't bother us. I would mention however, that the shower was barely fit for purpose.

Likes:
Nice location, food good in a well presented small country house hotel.
Dislikes:
The service in the restaurant and bar was poor and lacked organisation and staff training. A pity as the staff were keen and pleasant.

Kinkell House Hotel is a small Country House peacefully situated in its own grounds surrounded by trees and pasture land. The charming 150 year old converted farm house is located on the Black Isle in Ross-shire sitting above the Cromarty Firth, with spectacular views across the firth to Ben Wyvis and the mountains to the west Coast of Scotland.

Kinkell House Hotel is ideally situated two and a half hours from John O'Groats, one hour from Ullapool and the Western Isles, two and a half hours from Portree on the Isle of Skye and half an hour from the infamous Loch Ness.

The general area is steeped in history, including Culloden Moor in Inverness, the Standing Stones on Lewis and the magnificent Dunrobin Castle near Golspie, to name but a few.
