Likes:
Lovely location with country walks from the doorstep of the Cross. Lovely food in a very pleasant dining room with friendly approachable staff.
Dislikes:
The upper floor, the bedroom in particular, needs to be upgraded and more tasteful. Shower room had been upgraded but the upper floor has paper thin walls. Remove all fake flowers - fresh only!

"Lovely location, beautiful house, great food"
We had chosen The Cross mainly because of the location in the highlands and access to some good walking country, but were also attracted by its reputation for good food. It didn't disappoint in any respect. No doubt the fact that we enjoyed a burst of beautiful weather added to the experience, but I suspect the owners and staff will make this a comfortable, enjoyable place to stay whatever the weather. The standard of housekeeping and the attention to detail in the décor all added to the charm. Read less

Environmental Statement
As a family-run restaurant with rooms in a fantastic natural environment, we care about the world we will pass on to our children. We reuse and recycle a wide variety of items including paper, corks, card, plastics, printer cartridges, and even bread (for local ducks!). We use as many recycled materials as we can.We are working hard to cut down energy and water usage. Low energy lighting is being installed in as many fittings as possible and bedroom televisions are switched off when rooms are serviced. In the restaurant we make full use of local seasonal produce and where we can we buy produce that has been grown or reared by organic methods. Some of the grounds at The Cross are left to grow into wild areas to encourage local wildlife such as roe deer, squirrels, hedgehogs, frogs, butterflies, and a large range of bird species.
