We had an overnight stay at Friends Hotel while cycling the Wight.
The owner was extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for him. We just wanted to stay in the hotel and relax and we were made to feel very welcome. We all spent the evening in the lounge and the owner checked we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Hearty breakfast set us up for the day and despite us all having different requests, all orders came out hot. Read less

The welcome and helpfulness of the owner. The rooms were very clean, food was good and we would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Sandown.

The hotel room was clean with ample room for 2 adults and 2 children. Fresh towels for all with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was great - a nice way to start your day.

We are a family run hotel with friendly staff, that is set in its own plot with comfortable surroundings.
We have our own sun terrace and garden with ornamental fishpond for relaxing in. We welcome visitors who wish to bring along their dogs. The local park Los Altos is only 2 minutes walk from hotel.
The local beach, pier and high street in Sandown is only 7- 10min walk. There is easy access to the local buses, which will take you all round the island, giving you easy access to the many places of interest that the island has to offer.
We have 26 en-suite bedrooms and can accommodate 47 guests all year round. Sandown shops and sea front are only ten minutes walk from the hotel. The doctors surgery is only 5 min walk.
Dining is more than a pleasure at 'Friends'
The quality and presentation of our food has always been a source of pride at 'Friends' and is fundamental to the enjoyment of our guests. With our generous home cooked three course evening dinner plus tea and coffee, always with vegetarian alternatives and choice of menu. There is truly something to suit every taste, and to compliment your meal we offer a comprehensive wine list.

If you are looking for a place to site and relax, then the 'Quiet Lounge' is what you are looking for. It also makes for a comfortable reading area and has it own small library.
