Very friendly hosts. Large rooms. Excellent location and great value for. Breakfast was very good as well!
Dislikes:
Nothing that affected us, but there are a few steps up from the street to the hotel, and a short but steep walk down to the beach. But that is the location.
Response from Curraghmore Hotel:
Dear George Thanks for the review , both Lesley and I are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us , as you say the hill to the beech is steep ,there is even a song about it written by a country singer < Norman mourant > called that blessed hill to Curraghmore. take care and maybe we will see you again.

Finding out my deposit had been paid out and I wasn't receiving it back as part of the payment and it had gone to the agency. I will be booking directly next time cut out the middle man.

Bernard, Lesley and their friendly staff will make every effort to ensure your stay with them is both pleasant and enjoyable, and assure you of the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort and hospitality.

The Curraghmore is a family run Hotel, conveniently located in the delightful town of Shanklin and is positioned on the main access road to the esplanade and cliff top walks that lead to Lake and Sandown in one direction and Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Old Village in the other. The beach is just a 5 minute walk away from the Curraghmore the ideal location for all ages.

The Curraghmore has been tastefully decorated and offers 20 en-suite rooms. There is the option of Standard, Superior and Sea View rooms, all of which have a hospitality tray with tea and coffee making facilities. Within the rooms there is also a colour TV, clock radio and central heating.

The Curraghmore also offers a large enclosed garden, a large bar and ballroom and of course our dining room, which caters for special diets (subject to prior notification) and serves home cooked meals.

In the bright and airy dining room a choice of hearty English or a lighter continental breakfast is on offer. For the evening meal there is a tempting menu of freshly prepared meals including: Braised liver & onions, roast beef platter and pork chops in a honey and cider sauce.

Our menu changes regularly- you won't be disappointed. All diets can be catered for at Curraghmore, all we ask is prior notification of your requirements and we will be happy to help. If you fancy a drink with your meal, we have a well stocked bar for you to choose from.

The well stocked bar offers a selection of draught beers and lager, spirits and wines and it is a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day.

Everyone likes a get together and our Bar and Ballroom is a great place to do just that.
