The Esplanade Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight, is a beautifully located, family owned and managed beachside hotel, with fabulous panoramic views across Sandown Bay. We have an excellent reputation for a friendly atmosphere and great service. There was a lovely view from the window and the room was spacious and very clean.My only criticism was the bathroom was a bit chilly as there was no central heating (a heater was provided for the bedroom) but this wouldn't put me off staying there again as it was a lovely hotel and my children really liked it too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the location was lovely. The food was delicious and the hotel was both pretty and very very clean.
Dislikes:
Unfortunately the guests below were either hard of hearing or just not very polite as the television was ridiculously loud keeping myself and my son awake into the small hours(not hotel owners fault)

We were upgraded to a lovely, spotlessly clean family suite with 2 rooms and huge balcony. It was wonderful to listen to the sea at night. The hotel's breakfast was absolutely delicious. Kevin and the lovely lady at breakfast were so friendly. Our rooms were perfect, spotlessly clean and with the most beautiful view from the huge balcony. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The Esplanade Hotel is superbly situated on the beach in the ever popular resort of Shanklin, and is a fabulous location for Isle of Wight holidays. Our virtual tour shows our seafront location and the fantastic views available. While we are merely a few steps from the sandy beach, the Hotel also provides a central base for the many fine coastal and countryside walks that are available in the area. We are conveniently located close to the picturesque Shanklin Old Village, which is just a few minutes walk, and we are within 20 minutes drive to best of the Islands theme parks and attractions.
All accommodation is en-suite and offered in a selection of doubles, large family rooms and comfortable 2 room family suites that sleep up to 2 adults and 4 children. The luxuriously spacious Alverstone room (featured on the website virtual tour) complete with original Victorian carrara marble fireplace, leather sofas and beach view balcony, is arguably one of the largest and most comfortable rooms available in any Isle of Wight hotel, and certainly benefits from one of the best views. A number of our other rooms also have spectacular sea views and some have very spacious balconies directly overlooking the seafront and beach.
