The hotel had no record of my booking on my arrival. I was given a different room type to the one I booked. The room was pokey. The batchroom was tiny and I had to hold thye shower in my hand to use it. The remote for the TV was missing and I had to mess about getting a repalcement TV. No didgital service. The breakfast was poor - choice of 3 cereals & very basic cooked breakfast. Read less

Welcome to the Mayfair Hotel, a 2 Star basic accommodation family run establishment offering a friendly, relaxed and informal atmosphere.
The Mayfair occupies an unrivalled position with views across Sandown bay to Culver down and cliff, ideally located we are a 2 minute walk to Shanklin Beach.
We know how important it is to have fresh, white, fluffy towels, crisp, clean bedding and a comfortable bed to sleep on. All of our rooms are en suite and well equipped.
The large, sea facing sun terrace and gardens, offer the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cool drink on a summer's day whilst watching the many ocean going liners pass by. On colder days, our comfortably furnished lounge bar offers panoramic views from behind the shelter of the picture windows.. we have a variety of entertainers in our lounge bar performing live music on most evenings. There is plenty of parking for guests.
Shanklin and the Isle of Wight itself offer plenty of attractions for tourists for example numerous places to eat and drink. It is a great area for the family and for water sports and is excellent for hikers and bikers. The Isle boasts a congenial climate throughout the year and during low and mid season we offer Monday to Friday and Friday to Sunday or Monday short breaks.
We will be happy to arrange your ferry booking and look forward to welcoming you.
