The staff was very helpful and friendly also had a grea knowledge of the local history and were able to suggest further research. The meals were absolutely delicious and great value for money.

This picture-postcard village has medieval houses, a 14th century church and antique shops to explore. Situated mid-way along Royal Military Canal path, is an ideal stop-over for walkers and cyclists. Tenterdon, Ashford and Rye are all six miles away. Set amongst rolling fields in the quiet countryside, it is convenient for both coarse fishing in Appledore, fly fishing in Tenterdon and sea fishing on the coast.
