Likes:
The Sunday Carvery was brilliant and the hotel was very conveniently situated.
Dislikes:
There was no soap in the room when we arrived but that was rectified - a simple oversight.

Sandgate is a beautiful antique and art village, with an interesting naval, military and social history. The village spreads across 2 kms of the Kent coastline, with Folkestone and Hythe on either side. Sandgate offers a range of leisurely walks along the coastal park, such as a stroll along the sea wall or a relaxing walk in the woodlands and country side with views across the Channel. It also offers cycling and water based leisure activities: rowing, fishing and bathing.
Sandgate's neighbour, Folkestone is a great place for family days at the seaside and shopping in the town centre. A walk along the Marine Parade will find you looking at the Leas Lift, one of the oldest water-balanced cliff lifts in England. Taking a ride in the Lift will give you access to the Leas Promenade which provides fantastic views of the coastline. The Leas Cliff Hall, a newly refurbished entertainment venue, sits on the Leas Promenade. It is one of the town’s largest conference venues, and has a licensed café where you can sit and appreciate the wonderful views of the English Channel.
The Royal Norfolk Hotel is close to the Port of Dover, the Channel Tunnel and the Ashford Eurostar service (just 39 minutes to London St Pancras). With Dover, Deal, Walmer and also Leeds Castle, plus Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Canterbury Cathedral, there’s much nearby to keep the whole family amused.
