Likes:
Everything still as it was when visiting as a child, the smell of the roses, the bowls on the green and the church bells on sunday.
Dislikes:
At times the odd vehicle using the village as a short cut and the inconsiderate dog walkers. Unfortunately a way of modern life.

"Quiant but toxic!"
On entering the property and looking round I was distressed to see white stuff all over the floor! Was this the remains of a cocaine filled weekend..you know what white powder scattered about means!!! Perhaps...who else would leave such a mess...after all I had only just spoken to the staff in the trust office and obviously they knew nothing about it! My mother aged 79 always becomes very distressed about problems..things soon overwhelm her..we chose to rent this property for a quiet and stress.. Read less

Continued..free stay pottering to the museum next door and
having high tea in your lovely museum cafe which we had previously been to.we had envisaged that the same high standards would be present .

Continued.. but sadly they were not. As well as the mysterious toxic chemicals liberally sprinkled over the floor ..we used the tea and little cartons of milk provided then found the milk out of date!
Response from Port Sunlight Holiday Cottages:
We did have an ant infestation that had to be dealt with and were told not to remove the spray residue as this is the very stuff that treats the problem. We failed to advise the person about it and, however, one of our managers personally cleaned up. We have clearly failed to meet this person's expectations which is regretful as we know that these cottages are presented with care and concern for our customers' enjoyment as all the other feedback supports. We let ourselves down on this occasion.

Situated in the picturesque and historic garden village of Port Sunlight are three beautifully appointed Grade II listed cottages with every modern convenience. They have views of the famous Lady Lever Art Gallery, the rose gardens of the Diamond and the majestic village fountain and are just round the corner from Port Sunlight Museum.

This is a superb location for a break. Apart from the tranquillity of the village, there are restaurants, shops, pubs and a railway station all within a few hundred metres walk from the cottages. There is a frequent train service to both Liverpool (15 minutes away) and Chester (25 minutes away) and the station is two minutes walk away.

There is ample free parking provision within the village. It is a place to explore and although everywhere is easily accessible by car, a walk through the village cannot be matched. There would be plenty to do and see along the way. The village facilities include Port Sunlight Museum, The Lady Lever Art Gallery, The Leverhulme Hotel & Spa with fine dining available to non residents, a garden centre, a village pub and a tea rooms all within a few hundred metres with plenty more just a few minutes walk away. You can even book onto a guided walking tour of the village in season through Port Sunlight Museum. At key times of the year there are family activities, festivals and other special events.

The cottages are fully furnished and equipped including towels and bed linen. Two cottages have been finished to high standard of comfort and are both Visit England 4* rated, the third cottage has been accrediated with 5*

There are numerous attractions within a few miles of Port Sunlight such as Spaceport and the U Boat Museum in Birkenhead, The Blue Planet Aquarium and The Outlet Village at Cheshire Oaks as well as the two fabulous cities of Liverpool and Chester and within an hour from the cottages, the incredible North Wales Coast.
