"Comfort and Convenience"
Our friendly hosts made us very welcome and clearly told us all about the accommodation and the other facilities available to guests. At the end of a long first day we were pleased to dine in the restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal. Our three night stay was an ideal base for our exploration of historical sites in the area, particularly the Roman towns of Caerwent and Caerleon. It was good to return each day and sample one of the excellent real ales. Quite a find! Read less

The accommodation was convenient and comfortable and access and parking were easy any time of the day. And it was also amazing to discover that the beer garden was actually situated on the Roman wall!

"A friendly pub at centre of interesting village."
We arrived to find an error in the booking. Instead of a twin en-suite as booked and on my documents, they had documents detailing a double. They changed it to a twin but were embarrassed as they had thought we were a single sex couple. Their local customers were also amused as it soon got round. Read less
Likes:
The pub was in the centre of a small village that is built literally over Roman remains that we were able to explore whilst they sorted the rooms out
Dislikes:
NO. Just the hick-up with the rooms that they managed to sort out.
