We chose the Red Lion as it claimed to be Dog Friendly as many places do,this one really was. We had a lovely large room with a sea view, which was great considering we have a large Weimaraner. The room was well decorated with a new bathroom & good shower. The staff laid a table for us to eat with the dog in the bar for dinner & breakfast. I was worried about parking given the small car park but when we arrived a space had been reserved for us. The hotel is well positioned for the beach & town. Read less

We all had an excellent nights sleep and both breakfast & dinner were thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were very friendly & helpful,we will definitely be returning. Cromer itself is really nice.
Dislikes:
The dog wasn't allowed on the beaach at this time of year but there were lovely walks nearby so this was not a problem at all. Overall, no complaints here.

"Cromer-zone visit"
2 nights stay incorporating a family get-together with dinner in the Red Lion restaurant.
The two of us had a meal in the restaurant on the first night and the quality of the food and pleasant service gave us grounds for optimism about the following night’s event. Read less
Likes:
The accommodation was comfortable, clean and well appointed with good décor. We were very satisfied with our choice of room (room 20), and this together with attentive service and a good quality break
Dislikes:
Although we were generally pleased with the food and service on the Saturday evening, subsequent comments from family members did suggest that not everyone’s meal was as good as had been hoped.

The Red Lion Hotel is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast overlooking the award winning Cromer Pier and beach. The Red Lion is over two hundred years old, retaining many of its original features. The Hotel boasts fourteen en-suite rooms, most with amazing sea views. It also has a large lounge for comfort and relaxation overlooking Cromer Pier and a traditional bar with an excellent selection of local Real Ales from Norfolk and Suffolk.

The Red Lion Cromer offers superb Norfolk Fayre sourced by our team of Chefs led by James Tuynman, including Norfolk Sausages, Cromer Crab, Morston Mussels and in fact all the Seafood the Norfolk coast has to offer. The Hotel prides itself on its level of comfort, welcome, service, delicious food and beautiful location.

Cromer is a safe, charming, seaside town, lively in summer and peaceful in winter. In recent years it has attracted smart restaurants, galleries and boutique guesthouses, adding a contemporary mix to the traditional ‘bucket and spade’ feel that the town is famed for.

The long sandy beach is perfect for blowing away the cobwebs – it’s the place of long walks, beach cricket, fish, chips and ice cream – and now a summer surf school. It’s one of seven beaches in the county to feature in the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Beach Guide. Rise early and you’ll spot the fishermen putting to sea for the daily catch.

The elegant Victorian Pier with its famous Pavilion Theatre and RNLI Lifeboat station dominates the sea front, while the long promenade leads to jolly beach huts and the cliff path, up to the lighthouse and on to Royal Cromer Golf Club. Cromer has a good array of shops, but for serious retail therapy, the fine city of Norwich is a delight and just a quick train ride away.

We can also be found in th AA Pet Friendly Guide. Your dog will find his or her own comfy bed and bowl waiting for them.
