Likes:
Friendly host, light, clean comfortable rooms with fantastic quality cooked breakfast
Dislikes:
An option to have food before 6pm would have been good travelled over 5 hours so didn't really want to get back in car and find somewhere to eat especially not knowing the area

"Ok. Not great"
I found this place ok but for me it had a few problems. Ithought we could eat in the pub but we arrived on sunday night, they only do carvery at lunchtime. We tried for a coffee the next morning and were told no as well. Then the day we were leaving we both needed a shower, i could not get the shower to work at all. My partner tried for ages and eventually it came on only to stop half way through. Read less

Welcome to The Swan Motel, a motel, restaurant and public house situated in the village of Gillingham on the Norfolk and Suffolk border just outside the market town of Beccles.

We are positioned just less than 1 mile north of Beccles where you can enjoy a nice walk along the river Waveney. Beccles is a town, a parish, and a subdistrict, in Wangford district, Suffolk. The town stands on the river Waveney, and on the Eastern Counties railway, amid pleasant environs, 8½ miles W of Lowestoft. It belonged anciently to Bury Abbey; and suffered severely, in 1586, from fire. It is now well-built; and comprises several streets, which diverge from a spacious market-place. The town hall was built in 1839, and is used as a courthouse. The corn exchange was formerly the theatre. The assembly-room is a handsome building, with a public library attached.

We have a fantastic bar area, 2 restaurants, 14 completely refurbished rooms all with en-suite and a covered patio area with garden seating.

We have 14 fully refurbished rooms for you to choose from including our Executive Suite which is a particular favourite for when that extra special bit of luxury is wanted, complete with Victorian style bathroom with rolltop bath. It has tea and coffee making facilities, T.V and everything is just that little bit extra special.
