Welcome.

Perhaps a slightly extended menu but as owners had only just taken over, understandable.

Hawes is a small town in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A traditional Yorkshire town, there is a great deal to enjoy among the sturdy stone buildings. Situated on the fast moving river Ure, that is crossed by an old stone bridge next to a small waterfall. It also has a good range of facilities for visitors including antique and gift shops, pubs and cafes - and the chance to buy the local specialty, Wensleydale cheese, .Hawes has its weekly market (as it has since 1699) on a Tuesday - this is the liveliest and most interesting time to visit the town. Within the town itself you can visit the Dales Countryside Museum, run by the National Park authority and located in the disused Hawes Railway Station.
Things to do and see around us

Situated on the A684 in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Parks, our friendly inn makes a superb base for exploring the scenery all around the The Old Board Inn, which is quite simply fantastic, stunning and very varied. The Yorkshire Dales are a paradise for ramblers, cyclists and drivers alike. The A684 runs right through the middle of the Dales and is a wonderful drive. It starts on the edge of the Lake District, runs right through the Yorkshire Dales, and ends right next to the Yorkshire Moors. What more could you ask for?

Hawes is the home of Wensleydale Cheese. The traditional and blended selections of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheeses are handcrafted to time-honored recipes right here in Hawes at the Wensleydale Creamery. Come and discover the heritage of one of the county's greatest cheeses in the Visitor Centre and Museum.
