We often stay near Malton whilst we visit an elderly relative, and the Cresswell Arms has proved to be the best accommodation at a reasonable price that we have used to date. We also like to walk and it was an ideal location with walks towards Castle Howard straight from the door. We shall definitely be retuning - and bringing our dog the next time as we were assured the inn is very dog friendly. Read less

Very friendly, good food in the pub and great location.
Dislikes:
Although the rooms were very good and spacious I thought all the wood panelling and small windows made the room feel dark, could have done with some hanging hooks in the room for house coats etc.

I am fussy about cleanliness but everything was spotless. Good choice of food on the menu and we ate there both nights. The food was very tasty and well presented. Quite large portions though. Both food & wine reasonable priced. Read less

The bed (Room 8) was a little lumpy and seemed to slope down at the head end.
