"Fantastic overnight stay with our 2 dogs"
We can't recommend this place enough! The owners were just fantastic and made us feel at home from the moment we got there. They welcomed us, showed us where best to take our 2 dogs for a walk, reserved us a great table so the 2 dogs could dine with us and the food, both breakfast and dinner!! was brilliant and I'm looking forward to organising our next stay when we are next on our way to Scotland. "Work in progress"
We stayed at the George a few years ago and decided to return for one night. Unfortunately the previous management had allowed the pub to become run down and this was disappointing. However there is now new management and the future looks a little more promising for the George. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. We were told that a period of refurbishment was planned and judging by the wear and tear internally and externally this is long overdue. Read less

The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food was reasonable however PLEASE get rid of the breadboards! They are not hygienic and take up far too much room on the table.
Dislikes:
Run down appearance; bannister hanging off wall, energy saving bulbs poking above lamp shade, lighting in the restaurant - too bright. Nevertheless we sincerely wish the new management every success.
