My husband and I went away for a few nights for my 40th -had 2 nights at The Chessington. We found the owner very friendly and we chatted a few times. I think this makes all the difference with how you settle somewhere. The room was generously sized and we had a lovely view. The bed linen was clean and fresh - there were little things that need attention - like the loose headboard, the furniture was well used and it was a little dusty but I am very picky and tend to notice little things. Overall we were happy with the price paid for what was on offer. We felt very settled and welcome and were smack bang in the centre of Scarorough so ideal for a walk into town or to the beach.
Dislikes:
No I am happy that we got superb value. It was easy to park in front of the hotel and even purchased a parking permit for a few days which was a bonus.
I recommend eating at 'ASK Italian' - lovely
