"Nice relaxing break in comfortable surroundings."
Made welcome on arrival and shown to a nice clean room with adequate ensuite. Lovely breakfast in a comfortable dining room. Honesty bar with alcoholic and soft drinks and a variety of savoury and sweet snacks is a nice touch.I can honestly say it is good value and as good a single room as i have stayed in for the price paid.I am looking forward to revisiting when i next need to stay in the area. The welcoming Derwent House Hotel is a family run hotel, open all year round for holiday makers, business travellers and those looking for a short break. Situated on the beautiful sea front, with panoramic views over North Bay, Derwent House Hotel is the perfect base for exploring not only Scarborough but some of the scenic towns and villages nearby.

We are located conveniently close to all the delights, attractions, amenities and sites of interest here in Scarborough; just a five minute walk to Scarborough’s historical castle, a 10 minute walk to the town centre and only a five minute walk to an excellent choice of restaurants offering international cuisine. Close by also is the newly refurbished Open Air Theatre,Sea Life Centre, Casino, Indoor Swimming Pool and Peasholm Park. Whether your passion is for entertainment and excitement or long stretches of golden sands and fine dining, Scarborough can satisfy.

The epitome of British seaside resorts, Scarborough remains one of the country’s favourite destinations. There are so many reasons why Scarborough is as popular now as it always has been, aside from the nostalgia for its rich and vibrant early days. The resort has retained a traditional feel to it, despite many facelifts and improvements to facilities and services.

There is a blending of the old with the new as Scarborough modernises its facilities without losing the charm of the ‘good ‘ol days’. With easy access to the towns and cities of Filey, Bridlington, Whitby and York.
