"Perfect stay for a local wedding"
Me and my fiancee stayed at The Angel as we had a wedding to attend in the next village. The Angel was clean and we had a wonderful nights stay as the bed was very comfortable. There was a good choice for breakfast and the staff were friendly and attentive. We also had our own private entrance tothe B&B side so we did not have to walk through the pub each time. Read less

The Angel Inn offers a small residents lounge and 15 rooms all of which have en-suite bathrooms, TV, hairdryers and tea & coffee making facilities. Wifi on request* It is stated in local writings that one of the most notable house in Long Street is that of the Angel Inn. In the days of travelling by the stage coach men would stop to change horses and the travellers would rest and take refreshment at the Inn when travelling to Newcastle and the North.

The gentry travelling in their own carriages would also break their journey here. The Inn in its day was a large and roomy house with long passages. Indeed it is in such a house where one would expect to still here the echo of the coachman’s horn. In modern day, The Angel Inn is situated close to both the A19 and A1(M) and sits between The North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.
