We have never been up to northhumberland before it is a lovely place alnmouth has a nice sandy beach. But with the heavy rain on our only full day limited us spending more time on it.
Dislikes:
The food served was excellent and plenty of it.
the only minus was the bed and pillows they were very hard and we both did'nt sleep very well.

The pet friendly Hope and Anchor is reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in the popular seaside village of Alnmouth. It has been an Inn for as long as people can remember, and its walls will no doubt carry secrets and stories, which only they can tell.

The beautiful region of Northumberland has lots to offer, from long stretches of deserted sandy beaches to a plethora of historic castles and sites. All of our accommodation is ideally suited as a base to explore the many sights & sounds of the region. We have storage for bikes as we are on part of the Coast & Castle route.

Today, after a long period of refurbishment, John and Barbara Davison can offer you a comfortable base from which you can enjoy the delights of the heritage coastline, golf courses, cycle ways, walks and wide sandy beaches. There are 2 large family rooms, 4 double rooms and 1 single room, all with en-suite showers and WCs.

You can relax in our cosy and well stocked bar, and re-fuel your energy levels in our informal restaurant. We have recently won an award for our food as we use only the finest local organic ingrediants and everything is homemade (including the chips). We offer a childrens menu where everything is fresh and homemade. We have a selection of real ales from around the region.

Dogs are more than welcome to come and stay with us at no extra charge. They are also allowed in the bar and our beer garden.

We can also provide ample room and catering for that special occassion, be it a wedding reception, birthday party or meeting.
