Likes:
The place was very welcoming and in a perfect location for walking on the beach. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the food looked good.
Dislikes:
The only suggestion for improvement I'd make is to give the option of a slightly later breakfast; it was served only between 8:15 and 9:15, which felt a little early for us on a rare trip away!

Likes:
Pleasant room and breakfast, enjoyed the log burner.
Dislikes:
Not really, a lot of money has been spent in updating the Inn but I would have had the plumber back to finish off loose taps and missing grouting.

We stayed for 2 nights in Alnmouth, a place we have visited before, but this was the first time we'd had a hotel room there The hotel offered good value and we ate in the restaurant on both evenings. It was very quiet in the room with very little outside noise permeating in. The room was well appointed but maybe a tad small. Read less

The pet friendly Hope and Anchor is reputed to be one of the oldest buildings in the popular seaside village of Alnmouth. It has been an Inn for as long as people can remember, and its walls will no doubt carry secrets and stories, which only they can tell.

The beautiful region of Northumberland has lots to offer, from long stretches of deserted sandy beaches to a plethora of historic castles and sites. All of our accommodation is ideally suited as a base to explore the many sights & sounds of the region. We have storage for bikes as we are on part of the Coast & Castle route.

Today, after a long period of refurbishment, John and Barbara Davison can offer you a comfortable base from which you can enjoy the delights of the heritage coastline, golf courses, cycle ways, walks and wide sandy beaches. There are 2 large family rooms, 4 double rooms, 1 twin room and 1 single room, all with en-suite showers and WCs.

You can relax in our cosy and well stocked bar, and re-fuel your energy levels in our informal restaurant. We have recently won an award for our food as we use only the finest local organic ingrediants and everything is homemade (including the chips). We offer a childrens menu where everything is fresh and homemade. We have a selection of real ales from around the region.

Dogs are more than welcome to come and stay with us at no extra charge. They are also allowed one part of our restaurant.

We can also provide ample room and catering for that special occassion, be it a wedding reception, birthday party or meeting.

There is no car park so it is on-street parking which unfortunately is out of our control.
