"A Haven in beautiful Corbridge"
We stayed overnight whilst visiting relatives. The room was recently refurbished, extremely clean and had a 4 poster bed. There was plenty of space for clothes and the bathroom was excellent with a really deep bath which was lovely to relax in after a busy day of walking and visiting relatives.
The welcome on arrival was fantastic and we were informed of everything about the room, the parking and times for breakfast immediately. Read less

Everything really. The welcome! The breakfast - I would highly recommend - made to order, arriving at the table hot which does make a delightful change from the usual hotel buffet breakfast.
Dislikes:
The only disappointment was the fact we couldn't take a dog. A shame when you have a well behaved dog, used to staying in hotels and are willing to pay a supplement for them to stay.

"Nice enough hotel, but not great service."
2 rooms booked, one very nice, mine no view, looked out to flat roof with 4ft wall surrounding it. Noise level from bar downstairs also not good, but was charged same for this room as the other one. arrived to find private party taking place with big marque in car park. had to get to bar through all the people to check in. then told restaurant was shut for the evening and if we wanted to eat we would have to go out. No help offered with luggage. Told all this to owner before checking out.

It was very clean and other than the view from my room, the rooms were very nice. The breakfast was well cooked and plenty of it. Good size car park.
Dislikes:
View from my room & being charged same price. No prior warning being given of private party & therefore restaurant not being open to guests. No discount being given, when all this told to owner.

The six bedrooms at The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Corbridge offer some of the most luxurious accommodation in the area. Re-opened in March 2009, they have been completely refurbished to a very high standard.

All bedrooms are equipped with digital Freeview flatscreen televisions, telephones and tea and coffee making facilities. The bedrooms have been finished off with Corbridge artwork from well-known local artist Eddie Tibbs.

Each room is individually decorated with colour schemes running through walls, window dressings and bed covers. Some rooms have lovely views of the Tyne Valley, whilst others have a view of the historic Roman village of Corbridge.

Your experience of a visit to The Wheatsheaf Hotel starts with a warm welcome by one of our front of house team. A quick check-in and we will carry your bags to your room where we will show you how everything works. If you want us to, we will then be right back with a jug of cold fresh milk and some warm homemade (yes, on the premises!) shortbread for you to enjoy a well-earned cup of tea after your journey. If a pint is more your thing then we have a wide range available at the bar, including three real ales, at least one of which will always be a local brew.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel has by far and away the best car parking facilities in Corbridge. Easy access from the road into a secure barrier controlled car park.

A wealth of activities is available to you during your stay at The Wheatsheaf.

Corbridge itself is renowned for its boutiques, arts and crafts, jewellers, antiques and furniture, food shops and much, much more. The 17th century bridge, roman sites and fascinating architecture will keep all non-shoppers interested. After a few hours in Corbridge, why not pop back to The Wheatsheaf for afternoon tea?
