overnighting on our way from Corbridge to Brampton via Hadrian's Wall, there is nothing else around for miles, you can view Old Repeater from the top of the moors but it will be 30 minutes or so before you cut down across a boggy farm path. Once there you are dried out, warm and entertained. Rooms small, bathroom spacious, we were in the loft so a bit chilly on arrival but Les's instant heating soon chased that away? Read less

The host and his congenial 'Whats yours is mine, Pet'. Les brings out the tea and biscuits (he asks 'something stronger perhaps?'), welcoming you into his own lounge.

The Old Repeater Station was ideally located and we managed to see most things in the time we had. The local pub was also excellent.

Hadrian's Wall was designated a World Heritage Site in 1987 and is the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire and stands as a reminder of one of the world's greatest civilisations. Located closely is The Old Repeater Station, a large detached stone building near the most scenic part of Hadrian’s Wall.

The Old Repeater Station offers 4 star Visit Britain rated guest accommodation in the heart of a National Park within Northumberland. It is just 200 yards from Hadrian’s Wall and provides an excellent base to explore the beautiful scenery and historic sites of Northumberland.

Located within Northumberland National Park with easy access to the Lake District and Kielder Reservoir and obervatory, The Old Repeater Station is well situated for a visit to Northumberland.

Hadrian’s Wall is ten minutes away and the famous sites of Houseteads, Chesters and Vindolanda are all within ten minutes drive or bus. The historic market towns of Hexham and Haltwhistle are within eight miles.

We are ideally situated for walkers and cyclists due to our close proximity to Hadrian's Wall. Drivers can leave their car here if preferred to visit sites along the Wall. The Hadrian's Wall bus service which calls at all the main Roman sites passes the front door.

The Old Repeater Station is unique, a large detached stone building with a slate roof. The property makes extensive use of eco / green technology including geothermal heating and wood burning stoves. Our water comes from a private source for domestic usage and also heats the building via air source heat pumps.

Also provided at The Old Repeater are a licensed bar, cafe facilities, packed lunches, lunch and dinner. Lifts can be arranged to your walking point.
