"Disappointing"
Although the bedding and towels were spotless, the accommodation was very shabby and could have been cleaner. There was also a pump which kept coming on throughout the night. I think I was sent to sleep not by counting sheep but by counting the seconds between the pump going off and coming on again - 40 seconds when I eventually went to sleep but down to 7 seconds when it woke me up at 5am Read less

The overall shabbiness of the accommodation and the noise of the pump

"A bit better than last time (on the 31st of August)."
We got a better room than on the 31st of August, which we apreciated. The room was big, the bathroom too. But the wash basin was cracked, there were still no hooks for towels and the sitting ring on the toilet was skidding also in this bathroom. The bed was hard, and the noice and music from the saturday nightlife in the bar disturbing. Since we were leaving very early to catch our flight it did not matter that there was no breafast this time. Read less

One of the owner family was trying to explain all the problems they have had, trying to get things in order. Even if one feels sorry for them, it would look better if they took more responsibility.

"Catastrophy!"
There was no breakfast, a fact we learned only on our arrival. The reception was in a very noicy bar. The watersystem was making a horrendous noice. One of the beds broke down while I was sitting on it. The shower cabin did not close. The toilet sitting ring was skidding ... The owners were blaming the previous owners for all the faults. But they gave us a new room with less noicy toilet, they mended the bed, and the beds in that room were OK. But some hooks for towels would not come amiss. Read less

Hexham itself and the fact that the B&B (which rightly should be only B until they have fixed the kitchen!) was situated very central.

The Coach and Horses Inn is set in the beautiful market town of Hexham which provides an array of shopping and cultural facilities including both high street shops and a number of independent retailers, weekly markets, a theatre and a cinema. We have a large beer garden which families can also enjoy, a comfortable bar area and five en-suite bedrooms consisting of one double room, three twin rooms and one single.

We are ideally situated as we have the convenience of a thriving market town but are also close to the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Beauty and the Cheviot Hills as well as numerous historical sites such as Hadrians Wall, Vindalanda and the Robin Hood Tree (Sycamore Gap) to name but a few. There is also easy access to larger shopping centres and cities like Newcastle and the Metro Centre with regular trains also running from Hexham train station.

Here at the Coach we are close to all local amenities and stunning countryside. Pop in and see for yourself!
