"A delightful, friendly, top quality hotel!"
We spent two nights at the Northumberland Arms and it was exquisite. Food was top notch, our room with its egg shaped bath in the bedroom was absolutely perfect and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The sister (artisan bakery) organisation The Running Fox was equally as friendly and helpful, they even whipped up some cream while we waited from a pot of single cream. I love this hotel! Read less

We didn't like having to come and go to our room through the bar as there was no reception. Also carrying luggage up the stairs to the room was difficult and awkward.

Welcome to The Northumberland Arms, a beautiful Bar and Restaurant with Rooms by the River Coquet in the heart of Northumberland. Situated approximately one mile from the A1, perfectly positioned for direct access North & South, lies the idyllic village of Felton.

The Northumberland Arms was built in the 1820’s by Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland as a coaching inn where his coach horses, family and visitors could be refreshed before reaching Alnwick castle.

Owner Kris Blackburn, has built on the success of her Artisan bakery and Café in the village, The Running Fox and rolled out her expertise and decorative flair, showcasing her work within The Northumberland Arms.

The building has been lovingly restored (and not without its major ‘Grand Designs’ pitfalls) and presents the ultimate in chic, eclectic styling, whilst remaining warm comfortable and welcoming.

Wholesome, locally sourced food, cooked to perfection by Head Chef Mark Burnett, Alan Baldwin, Ryan Holden and Michael Appleby is served daily in the bar/lounge area from 12 noon until 5pm.

The 40 seat restaurant, headed up by Andrew Turnbull serves food from 5pm until 9pm. Sunday lunch is available throughout from noon until 9pm. The bar area is headed up by Sue Baldwin who also is responsible for co-ordination of room bookings.
