"Superb!"
We received a very warm welcome on arrival and indeed the warmth and friendliness of the staff throughout our visit was a key strength. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our bedroom was luxuriously appointed, immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. We loved the fresh milk, home-made shortbread, fresh coffee and Bari teas in our room. Breakfasts were superb in the new conservatory. Evening meals enjoyable too in the (much busier) restaurant. We will definitely be back. Read less
Likes:
We also liked the situation of the Northumberland Arms, in a small village (complete with Artisan bakery and free duck bread) - convenient both for the coast & larger towns like Alnwick.
Dislikes:
On an evening, the restaurant became very crowded & there were times when it felt like we were sat in the middle of Kings Cross station, with people darting all around us. Not very relaxing.

Welcome to The Northumberland Arms, a beautiful Bar and Restaurant with Rooms by the River Coquet in the heart of Northumberland. Situated approximately one mile from the A1, perfectly positioned for direct access North & South; lies the idyllic village of Felton. The Northumberland Arms was built in the 1820’s by Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland as a Coaching Inn and has now been fully renovated to an extremely high standard.

The Deluxe ensuite Rooms, of which there are 6, ultimately encapsulate a true feeling of Northumberland with an unafraid application of a muted, countrified colour palette of greens, mauves and purples; beautifully and opulently furnished to the highest standard imaginable. Rooms; individually named to reflect local landmarks encompass Travertine™ tiling, freestanding 'couture' Victoria and Albert™ bathing facilities in some Rooms and all with large walk in showers. Style, comfort and ultimate luxury are key and no expense has been spared to ensure the Rooms match the ambiance of the bar/lounge/restaurant area. The initial reaction to the rooms has quite simply been ‘WOW’! Complimentary robes, spring water in addition to ‘Bari’ infused teas are served in each room, in addition to sensor lighting, terrestrial TV, telephone and complimentary breakfast is served in the Northumberland Arms 'River Room'.

Our hotel presents the ultimate in chic, eclectic styling, whilst remaining warm comfortable and welcoming.
