The Queens Head is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Rothbury is situated on the River Coquet, overlooked by the Simonside hills and on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. We are within minutes of a lovely river walk, Cragside House and Gardens, an 18 hole golf course, small independent shops, gallery, antiques shops etc. "A proper working English village". Within 30 minutes you can reach the Cheviots or the beach and in 45 minutes you can be in the centre of Newcastle.
How to Find Us
Morpeth(approx 15 miles)
Buses run from Morpeth to Rothbury. Please call for updated timetables. We can also arrange to collect you from the station at either Morpeth or Alnmouth.
A1(approx 13 miles)
Leave the A1 North of Morpeth for the A697 for Coldstream and the National Park, Follow the A697 for about 7 miles, leave at Weldon Bridge for the B6344 signposted, Rothbury and The National Park. Follow this scenic road along the river until you come to a T Junction, turn left into Rothbury. The Queens Head is on the Right Hand side of the road, turn in right just before the Pub and first left into the car park.
