Local Area Information
Life in Goole has always centred around the docks, locks and canal basins built by the Aire and Calder Navigation Company. Today it's the busiest inland port in the country and also has a lively Marina, where hundreds of privately-owned leisure boats are moored. A stone's throw from the marina is the Yorkshire Waterways Museum, where you can find out more about the importance that the waterways played in Goole's development as a port and town.
